As there are many plausible definitions that could accurately define Conscious Culture, it is difficult to say that there is only one true definition. It is an interactive concept that encompasses many definitions and ideas. Canopi is a word that is used as an umbrella term to represent many thoughts and ideas beneath it. It is a covering, such as the sky, a transparent enclosure. It also refers to the rainforest canopy that is formed by the crowns of trees in the higher layers of vegetation. These vital live canopies, located all over the world, but most densely in the rainforests of South America, create the lung of the world that all animals depend on to live.

Conscious, in the simplest of definitions, is the state of being aware. For our purposes, we are using this concept of awareness in reference to one’s surroundings and their position and responsibility in their environment. When we are mentally perceptive, or “conscious” of the world around us, we are more apt to have a positive impact on its development. When we are conscious of our actions, we can constructively and deliberately choose how we treat the physical world.

Culture is what makes life special and interesting. There are also several definitions that are appropriate to define culture. In a broad sense, in is an accumulation of learned social experience. It can refer to the universal concepts, values, beliefs, and knowledge that characterize a group of people and make them unique from another group. It encompasses and focuses on the religion, art, music, dance, food, language and communication that is embraced by a certain group.

At Canopi Conscious Culture, we strive in a constant effort to provide accurate current information that focuses on culture and the natural environment. Planet Earth is home to all living things, she is our natural canopy, and at CCC, we wish to demonstrate, through cultural media, how vital it is to be conscious of her important role in supporting life, and the increasingly important role we play in protecting the Earth’s natural resources. We also wish to illustrate the colorful beauty of all unique cultures that are so quickly diminishing due to globalization. Through an integrative website connecting many sources and networks, we hope to unify different cultures, preserve their integrity, and provide options for how every culture and individual can contribute positively to preserving our world, the collective “Canopi.”
